Video for ‘How We Roll’ – Pre-Production

KONFAB recording 'How We Roll'

Pre-production has started on the video for ‘How We Roll’, the first single from Planetary Assault. Naturally the video will focus on performances by KONFAB and Jaak, but there will also be cameos by other artists on the project.

The video is going to be directed by spo0ky from Apartment Studios. She’s the director who made the video for ‘Go Against Us’ by Trusenz that’s currently blazing up MTV Base so we’re expecting big things.

Finalising Planetary Assault Artwork

Panoramic

We are busy finalising the CD cover artwork as the CD is going to the manufacturer on Monday. We’re using CDR in Cape Town as they come recommended by African Dope. Call Rolf on (021) 949 0850 to get a quote.

The picture above is a panoramic photograph by spo0ky that we’re using for the inner booklet. If you want to see it full-size, click on the photo and you’ll be taken to the Flickr page where you can choose to select the different sizes.

Dope Deal.

We are proud to announce that we will be working with cult South African independent label, African Dope to release Planetary Assault.

The deal was signed today at African Dope’s headquarters in Cape Town. Although Planetary Assault will be coming out on Pioneer Unit, we will be working closely with African Dope to leverage their knowledge of the local independent music industry, especially in terms of marketing and distribution.

Planetary Assault will be in stores and available for digital download in mid-June. That’s how we rrrrroll!!

Planetary Assault cover shoot

'Thankyou' page shot.

Yesterday was a huge success. We managed to gather together almost every artist who appears on the Planetary Assault Mixtape. The energy was great and everyone gave 100% and had fun on the set.

We spent the afternoon getting all the shots we need for the CD cover. The photographer, Anne-Sophie Leens, got some greats shots using a combination of her Nikon D80 and an old-skool Holga.

Big shout to Ben Sharpa, KONFAB, Archetypes, Driemanskap, Terror MC, Jaak, Rattex & Hipe. Special thanks to Eugene for lending us his factory for the afternoon.
